SCbio Foundation Summer Internship Grants
Each year, the SCbio Foundation awards up to $3,000 in grants to qualifying South Carolina college students who have been accepted to an internship at a South Carolina life sciences company. Funds can be allocated for housing and transportation expenses during the internship period.

Elizabeth Rizzo, a senior majoring in business at the College of Charleston, will intern at the Zucker Institute for Innovation Commercialization, an organization that independently evaluates and manages the intellectual assets owned and generated by the Medical University of South Carolina. Its mission is to bring groundbreaking medical advancements from ideation to commercialization.
Aidan Tomsik, a rising senior in biomedical engineering from the University of South Carolina (Columbia), received an internship at Rhythmlink International, a company that designs, manufactures and distributes medical devices.
Lernix Williams, a Ph.D. student in biomedical science at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine (Columbia), has received an internship at Carolina Biologics, a biotech startup developing a natural peptide-based approach to treat heart failure.
Community & Education
The SCbio Foundation, in partnership with SCbio, works with students of all ages to appropriately engage them in the industry and assist with teaching life skills.
